The Foundation

Supporting local charities who care for the less fortunate in our community

The Wisley Golf Club has a history of generous gift giving to charity. Since 1993 club members have raised over £750,000 for charitable purposes. Two year ago The Wisley Foundation was created, in order to take a more strategic view of the club’s charity work. It is registered as a charitable trust, registered and regulated by the Charity Commission.

The Foundation exists to support local, Surrey based, charities who work with others who are less fortunate in our society. These will essentially be smaller charities, particularly those working with children or the elderly. The Trustees believe this is the area where our contribution can make the most significant difference.  Administration support is kindly provided by Wisley Golf Club members of staff.

Since its creation in early 2009, the Wisley Foundation has received nearly £150,000 in charitable donations from Wisley Golf Club members –a quite remarkable response. Fund raising is carried at two primary events each year –The Doublet Trophy Golf Day and the Foundation Ball. Additional, occasional activities, - raffles, auctions, fun competitions and individual member contributions swell the coffers.

The Trustees are grateful for the continued generosity of Golf Club members and are at pains to ensure that charitable contributions are for “accountable” projects.
